Deb came to Grafton some 32 years ago when she and husband George purchased an Optometrical practice. One of their early pleasures was to drive around Grafton to admire the heritage buildings. George had a wish for living out of town, Deb had already done the whole live on a large block thing and the issues with getting to school and sports were too much to deal with, when they saw the auction for a house in Alice St, they fell in love and after much hard work renovating and restoring it is nearly finished.
Deb has had many interesting jobs in her time from running a cocktail bar, to waitressing on skates; her longest employment was with Department of Housing for 22 years here in Grafton until the office was closed. These days she helps out at the practice, manages their rental properties and deals with the work on restoring a couple of these. Deb has a strong interest in the community of Grafton which is one of the reasons she volunteers on the Caringa Board.
