Life Moves The Life Moves Project was established in 2001 as a Pilot Project for the Far North Coast (Grafton to Tweed Heads) through the Regional Capacity Building Program. The concept arose from priorities identified at Regional Planning consultations conducted throughout the region. The project is now recurrently funded. Caringa Enterprises Inc. is the Consortium Lead Agency for the Life Moves project, in company with 4 other major service providers located in North Coast regional centres:
Life Moves is a project that aims to assist people with a disability to live independently in the community. The Project target group are those people identified as capable of achieving independence after a period of intensive training with support to facilitate the transition to independent living. The project devises and implements a programme customised to the requirements of each individual. Support gradually fades as individual’s confidence and proficiency levels increase. The duration of the program is within 12 months. The Life Moves project has four intakes per year with application in March, June, September and December, to consider applicant suitability.
