Caringa Grooves in the Grass

Clarence Valley Council’s Groove in the Grass was the perfect opportunity for Caringa’s clients and staff to get out and about as Jem Cassar-Daley, Dami Im and Jessica Mauboy lit up Market Square in a spectacular display of Aussie talent.

Supported by Melissa, Holly, Mike and Georgia, a number of our clients were able to enjoy this fabulous event, with Rodney even sneaking in a cuddle with artist Jem Cassar-Daley.

Outcomes and Practice Leader, Dan Trickett said, ‘Community events like this give our clients the opportunity to see artists they watch on TV and listen to on the radio. You can see it on their faces that they just love to be out and amongst it.’

Andrew, who was supported to attend the event was ecstatic having attended the event and said he had ‘the best seat’. Attending inclusive community events like this are a fantastic opportunity for our clients to get out of the house to enjoy all that our area has to offer.

Melissa, who supported clients at the event said ‘it was something different, it’s not normally something we do and we all had a great time.’

Attending local events are a great way to support our clients to engage and connect with friends and community members while also providing opportunities to be involved in activities of interest – it also sounds like a pretty awesome time for the Support Workers too.
