The Push-Up Challenge

From June 5th through to June 28th, the Caringa Crew will be participating in The Push-Up Challenge to improve their physical and mental fitness, have fun and raise funds to make a difference towards mental health support in Australia.

The Push-Up Challenge is Australia’s largest mental health and fitness event.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of Australians take up the challenge to complete a set number of push-ups that represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in the most recent year of available data.

Since 2017, The Push-Up Challenge has raised over $40 million for mental health programs and services and engaged over 500,000 people to push for better mental health.

You can show your support by making a tax-deductible donation to our fundraising page or following our Team to be a part of the fun.

Caringa Australia supports the experience and enjoyment of ‘A Complete Life’ with choice and independence, and we know that part of being healthy in your mental health can mean growing your confidence with support.

We can help you get active with sport and recreation, get more out of life, meet people who share your interests, increase your community involvement and build the skills you need to become more independent.

Social and Community supports could be funded under either your Core Supports – Assistance with Social and Community Participation or Capacity Building – Increased Social and Community Participation.

3,249 push-ups for the 3,249 lives lost to suicide.

This number represents the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022 (the most recent available data).

In the spirit of inclusion, we also have some team members walking, running, doing squats, and some seated punches, and of course, we will all push each other to PUSH UP and TURN UP across the period of the Challenge to raise funds for our chosen beneficiaries:

headspace Grafton & headspace Coffs Harbour

Each day throughout The Push Up Challenge, the daily target number of push-ups will change to reflect a different mental health fact!

The Caringa Crew of Sean, Mel, Zac, Daniel, Leah, Chase, Shayne, Lisa, Alarni, Ang, Sjane, Glen and Declan will be sharing updates across the challenge on the Caringa Facebook Page.

Don’t forget to follow along throughout June!

Every dollar helps #pushforbetter mental health outcomes in Australia by funding much-needed mental health services and initiatives.
